Deacon Allen Tatara will lead our Advent Mission this year on Monday, December 16. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and all are welcome to join us for a cup of soup in the Narthex before the talk begins in Church at 6:00 p.m.
Deacon Tatara is a dynamic and fiery speaker, preacher, storyteller, musician, and evangelizer. He loves sharing his God-given gifts in his ministries and is truly humbled to be in service to God and his people. He ministers around the country giving engaging presentations, parish missions, and retreats for diocesan and parish audiences. He has motivated and inspired groups of all ages to a greater awareness of how to recognize God’s presence in their daily lives through his unique blend of storytelling, humor, music, and deep-seated spirituality.
Deacon Allen is a published author and blogger. He is published in Give Us This Day, one of the most popular Catholic devotionals on the market. He is also an accomplished songwriter and has had some of his songs recorded by a Nashville recording artist. For more than 24 years, he was the lead guitarist and a vocalist in The Gold Coast Orchestra, one of Chicago’s most energetic dance bands.
Deacon Allen is a permanent deacon in the Archdiocese of Chicago. Ordained in 2009, he serves at Holy Archangels Parish in Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates, Illinois. He has been involved with teens and young adults for more than 30 years, and was blessed to work alongside his wife, Stephanie, as Youth Ministry Coordinators at the parish. He is also the proud father of three young adult sons.
